RE: COLLEGE LINKS DISAPPEARING… I don’t see a correlation on my son’s portal. He was accepted at 4, denied at 1 and waiting on 1 and all 6 links are still there. @worrisome97 what is the HOTLINE you referenced?
RE: ASSESSMENT TESTS: only 1 CUNY sent info on testing so far. You may be exempt based on your SAT score, but in math some schools test anyway for placement. Each school will let you know their requirements. For CUNY GENERAL requirements you can read more here: cuny.edu Welcome>>Academics>>Testing>>CUNY Assessment Tests>>Admissions Requirements
RE: TIMING OF DECISIONS: my son applied to 6 schools in late October and got all his decisions except one between Feb 27-Mar 6. The one he’s waiting for is his first choice Baruch. Arggh
I got accepted to Hunter yesterday, so now I’ve heard back from all 6 cuny’s. I also got the dean’s scholars program email from baruch.
I got accepted to Hunter and Queens but still have yet to hear back from my first choice of City D: I applied for MHC too. Has anyone else not heard back from City College who have applied? I’m worried…
@kyokokun I applied to city and haven’t heard back. City is my first and I applied Macaulay. I got an email saying they were reviewing my application for grove school of engineering and Macaulay and I should be hearing back mid-March
@tshahid I applied for the school for architecture and got that same email basically. But shouldn’t they give up an acceptance to just City College first and then a separate one for Macaulay? I wonder if the email is a good sign for people who want to attend MHC
@kyokokun we’ll see, only a few days until the 15th. I want to call the person that emailed but I don’t know if I should or just wait. I have a friend who applied for architecture and she got the same email, so I don’t think we should worry
I got accepted to Baruch and Brooklyn
Does anyone know if MHC decisions are by mail or email?
@justthatkid They send it by email
@Hoodie299 For all schools?
@justthatkid Hunter said they will email it, and Brooklyn, Baruch, and Lehman said they will mail it. Queens and City just said that we will be notified in mid-march. That’s what they all said on my acceptance letters.
15th is the official date I believe.
Are you guys expecting to get in?
Im not, but I dont really care. Im almost dead set on stony brook, I got a notification yesterday telling me Ill get a decent amount of aid…
did you guys do intervews? mind sharing the experience?
Mine was terrible, so short, and I was very, very poorly dressed. Basically an unzipped sweatshirt and a hideous orange undershirt :OO
@ggwpafk823 I’m not really expecting to get in either, and I didn’t get an invitation for an interview. stony brook is my top choice, I really want to go there but I haven’t heard from them about financial aid yet. Have you gotten any info on scholarships or the honors college or scholars for medicine?(if you applied to those programs)
@justthatkid you’re welcome!
i didnt apply to premed or predental ( i put down cs), so no
I did mention interest in honors programs on the common app, mentioning preference of the university scholars program. Im actually not even sure how to check my status on that, but seeing as how I haven’t received an email of any sort pertaining to the program, im just assuming I ddidnt get in.
But yeah, I did get info on scholarships (merit aid only)… about 6k a year… which isnt that much but alot at the same time…
I believe we will be contacted by the FA office early april on a case by case basis to discuss financial options (mostly federal aid, but also in a general sense). I could be wrong though… just something a friend told me…
@ggwpafk823 oh okay, I was reading some other posts on here on stony brook and some people said that university scholars, honors college, etc. decisions come out around early to mid march, so you might have been accepted. 6k isn’t that bad, you’ll probably get some more from federal aid…
I really hope they’ll contact us soon about it :-S
UPDATE: my son heard yesterday from his first choice Baruch. Strangely it was the only CUNY who didn’t
email, he got the acceptance by US mail.
@tshahid Did you get in the mail a letter stating that you have to take a math placement test for City College? I would assume that would mean I got into the college but when I emailed them they basically said “nope not yet.” WHAT IS GOING ON CITY COLLEGEEEE
