I recently checked my application status in the CUNY Admission Portal and they said that the College I applied to (Hunter College) had made a decision and would notify me shortly. I called the automated admission hotline which told me that they would notify me within 2 weeks. It’s been a week and I’m really eager/excited/anxious to hear from them. I just wanted to ask if anybody knows how Hunter College will notify me of their decision. Will I find out about their decision through e-mail or through the admission portal or through the Hunter Undergraduate admissions login or through regular mail? I know I probably seem really impatient especially since I’m probably going to hear from them (hopefully) within this week anyway, but I just wanted to make sure so I don’t have to waste my time checking the admission portal a million times a day and calling their admissions office just as much.

Also, when colleges say that admission decisions will be sent out by April 1st, do they mean it could be sent out during mid-February and Early March also, or is it probably just going to be sent out late march?

CUNY says that all admission decisions should be out mid to late February (more likely if you applied earlier), so I’d just say hang in there! I applied to Hunter as well and haven’t gotten my decision yet, though my portal says the same as yours. If it helps, I received an e-mail from Brooklyn College with my acceptance information, so Hunter may send an e-mail as well.

I applied before December 1, and i haven’t received any letters so far. I applied to Hunter, City College, Baruch, Brookyln, and Queens. I checked the portal but it says “The status below reflects your application for the Fall 2014 semester.” but there’s nothing stated under it.

I got my acceptances from Brooklyn and Queens already- I’d assume that Hunter’s not far behind. Then again I applied through Macaulay, so if I were still considering it (I’m going elsewhere) I’d still have to wait for that…
If anyone didn’t get the emails, there could be any number of reasons, but check your promotions folder- for some reason, that’s where my Brooklyn acceptance email ended up.

I just got accepted to Lehman, which is my last choice out of the CUNYs. I am waiting to hear from City College and Hunter (my #1). I really wish the CUNY schools post on their website when exactly the decisions are coming out. I would really like to hear back from the aforementioned colleges by the end of this week.

For Hunter, did the decision come in the mail, via email, or what? (My daughter is a transfer student, and just last week got the CUNY email saying she would hear from Hunter shortly about the admission decision. But no word yet from Hunter.)

From Hunter the decision came through my e-mail, if that helps. It was an acceptance - I don’t know if they do rejections differently (although I doubt she was!). It takes them a while to get things going, though, so I wouldn’t worry about it. I waited a week after the housing application came out, for instance, to e-mail them about my lack of NETID. I assume they’re just a bit overloaded atm.

This is SodiumFree again. As I said in an earlier post, my daughter was notified by CUNY on March 19 that Hunter College had made a decision on her transfer application, and that she would hear from Hunter within two weeks.

Well, it was two weeks yesterday, with no word. So my daughter called Hunter Admissions today to see if she could find out what the decision was. She was told that she was in “Phase 2,” and should get an email by Monday. She was not told whether she was accepted.

So I guess we need to just be patient for four more days.

But my question today is: does anyone have any idea what “Phase 2” is?? (I wish my daughter had asked, but she didn’t.)
