Who here has heard back from CUNY schools and when did you turn in your application? I turned mine in around January 9th and have not heard back yet. Thank you!
I haven’t received an acceptance, but when I call the hotline, it says a decision has been made by Brooklyn College. Everyone keeps saying that the name of the college they state on the hotline is apparently the one that accepted you. I applied as a transfer student by the way. I submitted my application on January 12.
Hi @amilixza , I called the hotline also and they said that my application is currently under review. However, I turned mine in around January 9th. I too applied to many including Brooklyn, which is why im a bit confused.
Are you a transfer or freshman? I think it’s different for freshman, because transfer students can only be accepted by one college. Also, sometimes it takes some time to update the hotline, so maybe the hotline hasn’t updated yet? I’m not sure exactly. Best of luck though! Let me know if you have received any acceptances.
I also applied as a transfer for Fall 2018, turned my application in December 1st and CUNY portal updated two weeks ago to “decision has been made.” When I called the hotline it says Hunter made the decision which is my first choice. My friend had the same experience, she was accepted by the name given from the CUNY hotline and got an actual emailed acceptance letter a month after her portal updated. I’m guessing end of February-early March people will start to receive letters on a rolling basis.
I sure hope so! Good luck.
I’m a freshman, and thank you!!
Hi guys. I applied to Baruch, Lehman, and Brooklyn College right. So logged onto my portal account under the “College Links” section it only showed Lehman and Brooklyn. It says an admissions decision has been made and I’ll receive notification shortly. Does the absence of Baruch under that “College links” section mean I got rejected?
Are you a transfer or freshman? Usually if your portal has updated you can call the CUNY hotline and listen to the status of your application all the way until the end and it will say the college that made their decision first. For example, if Baruch was your first choice and you got accepted, they will state Baruch as the college who made the decision. That’s the only way I know of getting accepted, never relied on college links.
@gee9821 does it work for freshmen ?
Do they still state the college at the end if we were rejected ?
I’ve never seen anyone get rejected from the school that was stated in the hotline, they were always accepted. It’s the same for freshman and transfer, the only difference for transfer is only one school will admit you while freshman can have multiple CUNYs accept them.
I got my acceptance from Brooklyn as a transfer a few days ago and that was the school stated in the hotline, so I would assume whatever school they call out is the one you got into.
So if I’m a freshmen and I call they gonna tell me all the schools I got into ?
No, just one. Which is usually the first college on your list IF you got accepted. The others you will have to wait for actual admission letter. The hotline is just a way to see if you got into your first choice… they won’t name on the school’s you got into. Just the first one who accepted you out of the bunch.
When do they send out rejection letters?
Hi @mitomcflyy , I am not sure, however I am curious when did you apply?
Just got my acceptance letter from Hunter!
R u a transfer?
@ellen77 Yes, I am. I’m sure transfer applicants get reviewed first
