Hi, all. I got accepted to Baruch and Binghamton. However, I am really sad because schools that I like are all rejected me. So, now it is the decision between Baruch and Bing. I would like to major in Economics and would like to transfer to another school (Ivy league) after sophomore year. If I attend Baruch, I will need to pay about 5000 a year and Bing for like about 20,000 a year. Seriously, I am dying to go to my dream school, but it rejected me. Anyhow, I don't want to give up. My dream school is always the most important thing in my life. Considering transferring to my dream school, which school should I go to? I mean, which school will help me transfer to another easier? Does reputation help in this transfer process? I heard not all schools accept CUNY's credit, is that true?Thank you.
P.S. I think the major reason those top 20 schools rejected me is that my SAT is really low. Despite I have decent GPA and high class-rank, I think my SAT score really hurts me badly. I will retake it for sure. And also, anyone has any suggestion toward transfer? I really appreciate your answer and time. Thank you!

Baruch is good for business, it’s well known for it actually, but Binghamton is pretty much the State flagship. You’ll be in the best position to transfer if you transfer from Binghamton.

But if you’re thinking about selective schools, your SAT score will be considered more–especially when transferring into Sophomore year–than whatever school your transferring from. It would be a lie to say admissions officers don’t care what school your transferring from, but there will be little differentiating between a SUNY and a 4-year CUNY for most admissions officers, especially out-of-state.

Get your SAT’s into an acceptable range (try and re-take them by June, rather than while you’re in college), and reapply.

Also, enjoy yourself. You’re fortunate, whatever school you go to.
