Is it true that you can only submit one of the CUNY Applications, Honors or General, and not both? Meaning, can you apply for Honors to one school and regular for another?

Not sure what you mean, you can apply to Cuny Honors and Normal Cuny schools. When you log into portal and apply, you should see the supplement for Macaulay Honors. However you cannot apply to more than 1 school for Honors.

you can apply to both

I submitted by CUNY Honors application. However, now I can only view the status of my Honors Application when I click Online Application. Is there a special link to the CUNY general application?

Once you apply to Macaulay honors you are automatically also considered as a regular applicant for the same college. However, if you are not accepted, you can withdraw your application from that school if you wish, and apply to another cuny. I think your college counselor/ GC should have all the particulars.

Okay I asked those people and they said YOU CAN'T APPLY TO REGULAR AND HONORS... so if you apply to regular you can't apply to honors and viceversa

yeah if you decide to apply for honors college, you're only allowed to apply to ONE cuny and you'll be considered for both regular and honors college.

Can I apply Macaualy Honors College to HUNTER and then also apply for the regular application at City College, just incase I don’t get in at Hunter in the Honors college and Regular?

@ Damon1570

No, you can only apply one CUNY college when you’re doing the Honors College application. From there, you’re screened for both regular admission to that campus and the honors college at that campus.

Seeing these responses is confusing to me. I looked at Macaulay’s FAQ the other day and it says:

May I apply to Macaulay Honors College at more than one CUNY campus?

When you apply to Macaulay Honors College, please list the colleges in order of preference as you will receive only one Macaulay Honors College decision and up to six campus decisions for general freshman admissions. We recommend that you learn more about the seven colleges at their websites and, if possible, visit the campuses and select the ones with the programs, and extracurricular options best suited to your interests.
