Yes there is, but the deadline was December 15th, so you're a little late. It didn't ask you for SAT scores because you are supposed to send your scores to them officially using collegeboard.com ...

Crackednugget -

I'm a new york state resident. Although I'm not a City resident, which could potentially hurt my chances.

I'm looking to major in biology and go pre-med. I've been in my school's research program for the past four years, and submitted a project to intel. I've shadowed doctors in a hospital for five weeks at the University of Tennessee (that's what my essay was about, and how it affected my career decision). Additionally, I am in science olympiads and mathletes.

I'm not sure what my exact unweighted GPA is, but it's probably a 94 or so.

I'm from a public high school, that I believe has a pretty good reputation, at least on the Island it does. I'm from Long Island, New York to be specific.

Perfected, your SAT scores are pretty low for Hunter if your first language is English, and that SAT II chem doesn't look good when you're going pre-med... Your ECs sound kinda interesting. I'm guessing with awesome essays and good recs you may have a shot. Have you been in contact with some of the Macaulay admissions team in Hunter? In any case, good luck!

I didn't think my SAT scores are that low. I mean, I know they're not superb, but my making the comment "if your first language is English" was kind of... well, rude. At least, it sounded like it. Additionally, I never took AP chemistry. So considered I only had my honors chemistry background (a step higher than regents level), a 610 on the SAT II isn't THAT bad.

My essays were awesome, and were reviewed by my tough ass english teacher who is awesome at editing things. Additionally, my four recommendations are solid, though I haven't really seen them. I've scanned a few briefly when I had a chance one day.

I have contacted the Macaulay admissions office about various questions concerning the program, so hopefully they'll connect that, and know that I am SERIOUSLY interested.

I wasn't trying to be rude at all, I was just giving my opinion.. As I posted before, the valedictorian of my class, who had a 99.x avg, and a 2100ish SAT score (who is an American), was deffered from Macaulay at Hunter ED.. Hence, my comment that a 1800 is pretty low.
Hopefully you've got stuff on your app that the adcom will really like.

in response to the post above, a girl in my school was also deferred from Macaulay at Hunter Early decision even though she had a 1100ish/1600 SAT...

He scored much higher than a 1100... I think it was a 1350 or something of that caliber.

crackednugget - I know you weren't, but at that point in time, I felt that way. But thank you for the critique. At this point, I'm not really sure what to expect. Either I get in, and have a high percentage of going there. Or I don't get in, and I attend a college I already got into. It's a win/win really. =D

That's great. Which college did you get in already?

I've gotten into: UAlbany (And got into their Honors program), Stony Brook (applied to honors/wise, but I don't know about those acceptances yet), and Binghamton.

But the one I really want to go to out of the three is Binghamton. And it's a great fit for me. It's just, CUNY Hunter Honors at Hunter also sounds like an awesome opportunity, not to mention it would be free.

Hey.
Um. For those that didn't know.
And don't know now.

The deadline to apply regular decision for the Macaulay Honors College was 12/15/2007.

And early decision is 11/1/2007.

So. If you missed those.
I'm sorry?

The decision isn't rolling or anything, like the other CUNYs. It's like a regular private school thingy.

Ok. So it was only one person who didn't know up there. But a lot of people don't know, so I decided to just fill 'em in.

And good luckkk for all the regular decision applicants!

Cheers!

And I believe they send out RD decisions March 15th, so depending on where you live, you should get it the 16th/17th...

**** about a month away from decision time.

Bump Bump Bump.

at least 4 more days till decision time...i hope i get in

Does anyone know if we will be able to find out on our CUNY portal accounts whether or not we got in?

The portals only show the decision after a few weeks.
Good luck tomorrow everyone :)

Yeah I looked on the portal and it just says they're mailing them out tomorrow.
Which means we'll get them on Monday because there's no mail on Sunday, god damnit.

I'm freaking out.

Well, for ED atleast, I got the letter the day it was promised, and actually it happened to be a Saturday also. I think they postmark it by the 15th, and if you live in NYC- you should get it tomorrow :)
Good Luck!!
BTW Perfected, Are you definitely attending if you get in?

Just got my decision, I got into Baruch honors.
