CUNY Portal

Has any one else’s cuny portal changed and now states your application is complete.
An admissions decision has been made by the college(s) listed on your application.
You will receive notification from all college choices shortly.
Is this a good thing or bad thing?
I have tried the CUNY hotline and I was mostly waiting on hold and got tired of trying to get through to them.
Anyone else anxiously waiting

I see that too. It’s a good sign. It basically means check your inbox and mailbox because colleges will be reaching out to you with their decision soon. It could be weeks till they actually send to you tho.

@bstangiee Call the automated hotline and listen for a college(s) after the system says “An admissions decision has been made by the college(s),” if the college is the first one that you listed on your application then you got in.

What’s the hotline number?

Portal says decision has been made. Hotline says application is under review. LOL

121299728692869 I call this number but as STEM2017 the hotline says application is under review

same for me

i called an admissions counselor yesterday and she said they dont update the hotline anymore

@boop999 which schools did u apply to?

Hunter, City, Lehman, Brooklyn, and Queens. I applied through Macaulay, for me on the CUNY portal it says the stuff about an admission decision being made and that my Macaulay application was under review. The admissions counselor I spoke to said that the colleges have made a decision but she wasn’t at liberty to tell me.

@boop999 I actually applied to all those school (general admission) + Baruch, I called too and they wouldn’t disclose anything, guess we still have to wait and see what happens.

@waitingcuny
Does this mean I’m accepted? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
Dear Angelica,

The John Jay Admissions Committee requires additional information to make an admissions decision on your application, therefore we are inviting you to take the CUNY Assessment Test. The CUNY Assessment Test will indicate your proficiency in reading, writing and/or Math, which is necessary for acceptance into John Jay College.

You will receive a letter from the CUNY Testing Office indicating the test(s) you need to take. It is important that you prepare and take the test(s) as soon as possible.

For general information on the CUNY Assessment Test and sample questions, visit the CUNY website at www.cuny.edu/testing.

Once you have taken the test(s) and have met our requirements, you will receive a letter of acceptance.

If you have any questions concerning your application status, please email us at admissions@jjay.cuny.edu.

Sincerely,

Vincent M. Papandrea
Director of Admissions

My portal has a blank under the status of my fall 2017 application- is this a bad thing?

@cyiadre when did you submit your application

November 23rd. There were some issues with my transcript and there was a message saying that my transcript hadn’t been received, but that message went away a week or so ago and now there’s just a blank spot where that message used to be.

@cyiadrew You should call the CUNY hotline (speak to representative) to know the status of your application and to know that your materials are submitted

It might have to do with when you submitted your app or the transcript issue. Again, call to make sure.

Any idea of my chances of admissions? and when they will come out? I applied September 15th to Baruch with a 2.89 weighted… 1.4 freshman year… 2.9 sophmore year and 3.95 junior year. I got a 1110/1600 CR+ Math on SAT

@Rayath12572 Honestly, you have a good chance, I’d say 40-50% at getting in. Baruch is very competitive, but they can see that you got your **** together sophomore/junior year and that you’re a serious student. Your SAT isn’t great, but it’s not too bad either. The only thing is, when they look at you and then they look at someone who had a 3.9 GPA through all of high school, who do you think they will choose?

Best of luck.
