CUNY-- Queens College, Brooklyn College...

My dream is to attend NYU, but if I am rejected from that school and from my second choice (Fordham), I was considering attending a CUNY school. So far, the two that have sparked my interest have been Queens College and Brooklyn College. Can anyone give me any info about either of this schools (educational quality, campus life, etc). I am originally a New Yorker, so I'm vaguely familiar with them, but not much beyond their location.

Just make sure you are above their SAT/ACT range if you have good ECs and Grades for ( Fordham and NYU)<< their decision is soley based on that and if you really want to attend, apply EARLY. I heard CUNY was a good state school for your money and prepares you as well. Good Luck =)

I'm an NYU student. If you want, you can ask me questions about admissions and programs here. Generally, students are supposed to have a 1950 or so on the new SAT's (old SAT's was 1300). If you didn't perform so well, you can enter through three or four different programs at NYU that depend on your actual circumstances. The overall GPA for the entering class was an "A-." If you have a really good GPA, I suggest apply early decision if NYU is your dream school. I STRONGLY recommend that you apply to NYU because it's such a cool university; you'll really love it here!

Brooklyn is a better school than Queens, though I think Queens has a nicer campus in a nicer location. Both offer easy access through mass transit to everything NYC has to offer though its easier from Brooklyn as there is a subway right there. Queens apparently has an amazing shortened psych program.

What are you interested in and where are you located? (Are you eligible for the CUNY-Honors program?)
