Hi! This is a thread for people who are transferring for Fall 2018 since Spring 2018 application is over. I just curious how many people are going to transfer. If you don’t mind, post what colleges you want to transfer to and your standing (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior…).
I am a freshman at SUNY Buffalo. I want to transfer to CUNY college because I found that SUNY colleges are expensive, and going to CUNY college is the better choice for me because I am an NYC resident, it is easier for me to find part-time jobs and go to class. So far, my GPA is N/A because this is my first semester.
I am a junior and I’m planning to transfer for Fall 2018.
I put Baruch as my first choice. Brooklyn College is my 2nd choice. Then Queens, Hunter, York, Medgar. I am an Accounting major
Anyone else? It’s impossible only two transfer student wants to transfer now. :)
I’m also transferring my choices are city Lehman and hunter. I’m excited for the results hopefully everyone gets into their first choices
Me too, good luck.
I just put in my application a few days ago, I’m afraid submitting it a little later will affect my chances
I’m actually transferring from a community college in Texas. My choices are Brooklyn, Baruch, Hunter and Queens. So nervous!!
No one here is not nervous :)
Having other people to freak out with definitely helps!!
[-O< anyone receiving acceptance letters
Geez im completely on edge about the whole submitting my application on the 25th thing. I’m probably the king of anxious here because my supporting documents probably haven’t even arrived yet…
I think regularly, it takes a week (more or less) for the supporting documents arrive at CUNY/UAPC. You should try Priority Overnight Shipping, it takes only a night to deliver. There is another address from CUNY/UAPC that is for use of the Priority Overnight Shipping.
Hm… the documents have already been sent though… My online application itself was submitted on the 25th and my high school transcript on the 25th as well. However, my college transcript was only sent yesterday.
I submitted my application in October. Had no idea that I needed to send my high school transcript since I already have a Bachelor’s degree. For those who don’t know, students seeking a 2nd degree apply as transfer students so my situation is the same as yours.
Anyway, I submitted supporting documents much later because of this (January 2nd) and was worried this would slow things down even though I submitted my application pretty early, since CUNY says it takes 8-10 weeks for your status application to update, but CUNY also says 6-8 weeks on some pages of their website. Not sure which one is right Here’s hoping I get my acceptance sometime in February.
But if any transfer students have gotten an acceptance, let us know! Everyone in the freshman thread is getting acceptance letters already, we should be getting ours soon too.
After two years of college you no longer need to provide your high school transcript nor your SAT scores. It’s mandatory if you have less than 30 credits seeing how you already have a bachelor it isn’t needed!
Ahhh okay. The transfer application stated quite clearly that I had to send it but my college counselor told me the same thing before he sent it out, so I guess you’re right. Also I just called the CUNY Hotline and it says my application is complete even though CUNY Portal says it’s not, but this is the same thing that happened to me when I transferred from York to CCNY in 2013.
Looks like we will all be getting acceptances soon. We only get into 1 school, so hopefully we’re all happy with what we get!
Mine is still incomplete
Wait a couple of weeks and the portal should change. And if u don’t see change email them and in about a week they should update it
@warda
My portal says: Your admission application has been received and is currently under review. After submitting supporting documents, please allow 8-10 weeks for your application status to update. Items sent to CUNY/UAPC will not be returned. Visit www.cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/afteryouapply/docs-trans.html for more information.
Is this what its supposed to say? The automated phone thing says its incomplete, so I guess like you said I’ll have to wait a couple weeks.
@Synchroz Mines says that too and I applied on dec.12th and all my documents are already in.
