CUNY Transfer for Fall 2018

I also got a placement exam date it’s mandatory and you have to attend.

the test just means you have to take it at the college of your first choice and it will send over to the college you have been accepted to.

Oh, yeah! I just meant I wasn’t sure if it meant anything in terms of admission. I definitely will be taking it and understand its importance!

Did you guys get the placement exam info in an email?

No through mail also once your arrive at the placement test make sure to bring the letter from the envelope or they won’t allow you in.

@Frasshead I received mine via e-mail last night at around 6pm EST.

Hmm. I haven’t received an email about the placement test yet, but before I came to the school that I’m currently attending, I did take the math 6 placement exam last year. I wonder if I’d have to take it again if I want to transfer in this time.

The Baruch admission advisor said I will receive a decision by the end of the week but the week has ended and I got no notification of my decision yet everyone else got his/her decision. I think my application was passed on to my second choice, Brooklyn College

I went online to my CUNY first and saw a Testing hold on my account from Baruch College

It said that I did not take the CUNY assessment test in Mathematics and I cannot register for classes until I take it. I should visit VC 5-220 and schedule an appointment.

This means I was accepted to Baruch College!
I am so happy right now

My CUNY first has the wrong college on it does anyone know how to fix this.

@warda THAT has to be the biggest mystery in CUNYfirst history!!! notify your school. maybe they know how to fix.

@warda You maybe have to call the Help Desk to sort out that issue

Thanks!! I was really nervous it’s been like that for a month and registeration is starting soon.

When does registration start? And what do you have to do before you’re allowed to register? I’m gonna pay my commitment deposit next week, should that be enough to allow me to register? @warda

@compsci1412 registration usually starts in april or may. make sure you hand over proof of immunizations (measles, mumps, rubella–mennigitis is optional: you have to sign a form saying that the vaccine is not necessary for you). depending on the school you may have to attend orientation (mandatory at baruch i hear) and take any required placement tests. now is a good time to set up your financial aid as well.

there is a may1st deadline for the commitment deposit as well. hope this helps!!

@baker101460 I did my immunization stuff when I got my first degree from CCNY. I can’t remember if I had to do it again when I transferred. So do I have to get the vaccine again, or just submit the same form again? Or do I not have to do anything? This has had me confused for a while

@compsci1412 your immunization info should transfer over automatically, if not you should call the school’s health department and have them fax it over or send electronically to the new school.

check with the new school first. they might already have the information though.

Alright sounds good, I’ll ask. Thanks!

Just received my acceptance from Baruch via e-mail!

I have received my acceptance from Baruch as well.
