<p>I'm just really curious. Today I went to a college session with Penn, and the officer basically said that if something says like a totally different college, they basically reject you. Sure, I would understand if it were on a, for example, "Why Penn?" essay, but what if the teacher did this on a recommendation? I mean, it couldn't be the applicant's fault, right? </p>
<p>Well... think about it. A reasonable app reader would conclude the teacher made a mistake. Would it be reasonable to condemn the whole application file? Of course not. They have better things to do than to be arbitrarily vindictive.</p>

<p>I would assume that Penn meant anything the applicant sends in would be penalized for this.</p>
<p>An admissions rep. once told me (when they visited my school last year) that they've seen quite a few g.c. rec's with the wrong school title, but it didn't hurt the applicants chance.</p>
