My daughter is 1/4 Puerto Rican- (my husband half, his father an immigrant). She will be the first on his side of the family to attend college. She is top 10, AP student, etc. Would she qualify for any Hispanic scholarships? I can't seem to find how Hispanic decent is actually determined. Thank you!

Under the College Admissions forum, there is a sub-forum labeled Specialty College Admissions topics, and under that is a Hispanic Students sub-forum:

Go to this thread and it gives lots or resources for Hispanic students including how Hispanic ethnicity is determined by colleges and NHRP:

Your D would qualify as Hispanic both for college admissions and NHRP. Although NHRP does not give out scholarships, many schools give scholarships to students who are NHRP scholars (much as they do for NMS). As far as specific outside scholarships, the definition of Hispanic will be determined by each organization.
