Curious about something

Sorry if this has been asked before but, well I'll just quote Coopjust:

"Actually, what I've heard (BC, Tufts, BU, Holy Cross, Dartmouth) was that the best "superscore" is what matters.

Like, if you did this (somehow)
Test 1: CR800, M200, W200
Test 2: CR200, M800, W200
Test 3: CR200, M200, W800

You got a 2400."

Previously I thought that your one-sitting score was sent to colleges and that if you scored higher subsequently, then those higher scores would be sent. I didn't know that the best from each section was taken and then combined.

Is this true in general for all colleges?

All scores that you receive are sent to colleges. Sometimes people have said that colleges "superscore" by taking the highest score from each section and looking at that. However, if you did as reported above, I don't think any college would be too happy.

It's true but not when you do that. COlleges want to see improvement not just a way to get around their policies

I know, that wasn't the best example. Great, I guess I don't have to get above a 2300 the first time.
