Curious as to my chances

Georgia tech EA for you should be a safety-high safety (if that exists). Also depends on the program you want to apply for

i agree with @teenbodybuilder

Hi. Thanks for chancing me! I’m probably going to stick to the general flow of everyone else’s evaluations/predictions.

Stanford (REA)- reach (very attainable though, for an application of this caliber)
UC Berkeley- low match/match
Georgia Tech (EA)- low match *
UT Austin- low match *
Rice- low match/ match *
UCLA- low match
UCSD- safety
Texas A&M- safety*

The * just means that I only have a slight familiarity with the school’s admissions standards so you shouldn’t rely too heavily on those (for lack of better phrasing).

You have an amazing application but I do agree with some of the prior posters, you should throw a few schools into the mix whose respective selectivities are lower than Stanford’s and higher than the rest. I know selectivity isn’t everything but a Vanderbilt or a John’s Hopkins may appeal to you. Maybe it’s just something to look in to.

Good luck and I hope that this helped

Stanford - Reach
Berkeley - Match
GTech - Safety
Texas - Low Match
Rice - Match
UCLA - Match
UCSD - Safety
AM - Safety

Good luck! Please get me back.

Just accepted to UT Plan II Honors! With that in mind, how does that affect my chances of being accepted to the Cockrell School of Engineering? As mentioned earlier I applied to Engineering Honors, so I’m wondering if my chances are any different

Stanford (REA) - Reach for everyone, but you’re just as qualified as anyone they admit!
UC Berkeley - match
Georgia Tech (EA) - safety
UT Austin - low match
Rice - match
UCLA - match
UCSD - safety
Texas A&M - safety

YOU’RE AMAZING! Good luck waiting it out  have you considered any other reach schools? MIT perhaps or Caltech or similar? What are you looking to major in? I think it might be a good idea for you to add some other high-aiming schools cause you could definitely get in :)

Stanford: Reach
Rice: Low Reach
UCB: High Match
UT Austin: Match
UCLA: Match
others idk

Dude you’ll get into everything easily man. Stanford and Rice are a bit of a coin toss, but you still are a really strong applicant. Really impressed.

For those saying Rice is a safety, nobody from last year’s class got into Rice. One girl got into Yale and Princeton, but got rejected from Rice. Rice is the ivy of the south after all lol.

UT and A&M are pretty much the same in engineering. UT is much more prestigious tho. Within Texas, they’re both really easy to get in. Not sure about OOS tho.

I’m applying to the same places for the most part…but worse specs lol. Chance me too? :)

Just a comment that I don’t need any more chances for Texas A&M since I’ve already been accepted haha.

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to give an update as to where I might be going for college next year.

A&M: Accepted + Honors
UT: Accepted + Plan II + Engineering Honors
GT: Accepted
UCSD: Accepted + Regents Scholar
UCLA: Accepted
Rice: Accepted
Berkeley: Waitlisted
Stanford: Deferred -> Rejected

My parents and I are unwilling to take out loans to cover OOS costs, and Plan II + Engineering doesn’t seem possible to do in 4 years without being miserable, so right now I’m debating between A&M and Rice. Thoughts?

Id go Rice but the most “prestige” is the UT deal. Congratulations on your acceptances.

I’m deciding right now between UCLA, UPenn, and Rice. Maybe we’ll be classmates!
I’d go Rice, though, for sure :)

It’s easy to say Rice without any context, and I would choose Rice in most cases. But A&M is giving me a really darn good offer that I have to consider.
