Curious if it this is feasible..

I need some suggestion and opinions on whether or not I will have a chance of employment, if I can manage a 3.0 or better in either electrical engineering or petroleum engineering.

I will tell you that from grades 6-12 I basically just skated by. I had no interest in anything being taught, other than math and science. I still, in those subjects, skated by. I did the bare minimum to achieve C's and D's. Some B's.

Now, my attitude has completely changed. I could careless about going out and having fun and want to put myself in a position to achieve a higher learning and be successful somehow.

I am curious if there is hope for me in either of these degrees. Will there be such fierce competition that I will have no chance? I am willing to go to a community college and spend 3-4 years their catching up and finishing an associates or w.e classes are needed for either degree.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to help me :).

I think you should go to the community college and see how the first semester goes. You may have to take some remedial courses…don’t be discouraged. Also, don’t overload your schedule. Be realistic.

Are you really interested in these two engineering fields, or are you looking at them for the job prospects?

Take this one semester at a time.

I am genuinely interested. I think. If I were not to become either of these, I would most likely either become a electrician or hvac/r tech. The money is definitely a motive as well though. I will not lie.
