Curious TAG Questions! SBCC/UCSB

I did very bad my first year of Highschool. Got about D's and F's as I was a pretty bad kid back then haha. I'm currently in my Junior year finally starting to take my life and future seriously. I know for a fact theres no way i'm going to be going straight from highschool to a UC and my dream school is to go to UCSB .I'm planning on taking the TAG in SBCC and then transfer over to UCSB as I heard this was the most effective way to get in. Are they going to look at my grades prior to requesting a TAG. I don't really have much information about this. If someone can give me some more info as i'm pretty lost lol.

When you apply as a transfer the UCs will not even look at your HS grades.
For this reason your grades the next spring and following year do not matter at all.

IMO if you are serious then I would recommend trying to take AP units right now in HS to load up on college credit before you graduate.

For UC transfer questions, try here: <a href=“UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/</a></p>

That sounds good. I was planning on taking a few AP Classes. I was just wondering, because I heard TAGs can get denied? Do they get denied for bad grades in highschool or they didn’t meet the requirements

TAG gets denied for bad grades in college or not fulfilling the right courses.

To restate. For UCs, once you are a CC student, HS grades do not matter at all. (for privates they still look at HS transcript tho)

^ correct. HS has nothing to do with transfer admissions.
