My friend at school is terrified right now because she got 1 B on her report card. She is only a sophomore but she is a early "bird." She got straight A all her freshman year in high school and all straight A till now, she got a B on AP Government and Politics because she failed a presentation (she forgot about it). She is Yaleaholic, she loves Yale and Yale is the school she really wants to go to, Does one B affect your changes of going to Yale? Let me explain, "Did all current yale students got straight As all their years in high school before they go accepted to Yale?
"Realistic" answers needed!! She is bursting right now :(
All does who replay; Thank You

No to your question. tell her to chill and good luck!

also love the title (if that’s the reference im thinking of…)

Let’s be honest. She could get straight As from 1st grade to senior high school in the toughest, most rigorous classes available in the country and she still wouldn’t be guaranteed a seat. Having straight As is nice, but it’s far from critical, and in any case it’s not a guarantee. I would tell your friend that she is a brilliant student and a great person who should aim for Yale but realize that wherever she does end up going she will do shine as long as she keeps being who she is.

Cool. I just got back from bulldog days. Twas awesome!!!

Anywho, I got into Yale (obviously) and had: in freshman year, about an equal number of b’s and a’s; in sophomore year, a b- (oh me oh my) and not a single flat a. In junior year and senior year I pulled it back up and got straight a’s and a+'s…but “your friend” (wink, wink?) can probably do something like that herself.

So, basically. tell your friend not to be a blair waldorf.

Thanks Tantrum, the information in your post needs to be broadcast far and wide.
WAY too many grade-obsessives nowadays imho.

For what it’s worth I was waitlisted (which is at least not a rejection) and got a
high C/low B all year in my junior pre cal class. And grades though obviously the most important part of the whole college thing aren’t everything. People ranked 2-4 in my class got rejected from a school that someone ranked 10+ got into.
