Curious

Purely out of curiousity (since I’m not even considering Upenn) would I have any type of advantage in applying since my uncle has been a professor there for like 15 years?

Yes, and shame on you ;). I'll take your spot though.

There's a checkbox on the application where you can check off if one of your relatives is a faculty member.

Don't know why you wouldn't consider penn. it's the best school ever. Oh well

can you lend me ur uncle?

On a similar note, having an uncle who graduated from Penn (father's brother) does not qualify as legacy, right?

it does if your uncle is the gay lover of dean stetson.(shhhh)

hahahahahha

JohnnyK, are you certain that there's a place on the application to tell Penn if a relative (outside of the immediate family) is a part of the Penn faculty? I sent in my application a few days ago, and I noticed that part only asked if parents were a part of the faculty. Here's the question they asked:

"Is Either Parent a Full Time Member of the Faculty or Staff of the University of Pennsylvania?"

I may have missed something while going through it the first time, but I don't see anything now. Just wanna clear something up!

"Don't know why you wouldn't consider penn. it's the best school ever. Oh well"

Mainly because I couldn't afford it hehe, don't qualify for finaid and didn't think ivies gave merit money.

Why don't you qulify for finaid? If you need finaid, you get it.

"Why don't you qulify for finaid? If you need finaid, you get it."

Hehe let me reiterate, my parents could afford it, I couldn't. They basically told me they will supply X dollars (enough to pay for a in state public school) and if I wanted to go anywhere else I had to find a way to pay the difference.
