looking at: brown, wesleyan, tufts, barnard, nyu, hampshire, indianaU (safety)
interested in: ethnomusicology/music/anthropology

whatdoyathinkpls?

Brown is so crazily selective that I predict you won’t get in there. You’re competitive at Wesleyan and Tufts. I predict acceptances at the rest. Are you sure you want to apply to Hampshire? It seems too alternative for a person with your qualifications.

BCA? Given it’s BCA and your stats I’d probably say yes to all but Brown.

thanks for the reply! hampshire is also kind of a safety… picked it for classes/programs more than atmosphere, and as long as it doesn’t have a strict core, i’m fine. what do you mean by alternative?

bump bump.

While Hampshire is often seen as a “hippie” school, there is actually a lot of overlap in the students that you will find there and those at Brown and Wesleyan. Many bright, motivated people go to Hampshire because of the structure and the 5 colleges.
By “hippie” I mean this, there is less drinking at Hampshire than at many other schools and so it is looked as a more “druggie” school. This is just not the fact, from studies done about drugs on campus there is no more drug use at Hampshire than at most other small liberal arts colleges.
If Brown is your top choice, then I think Hampshire makes a lot of sense for you as a safety.
