I'm curious to see if anyone else has been doing this.

Okay, so most of us have not heard back from our school(s) yet, but has anyone else been talking to people about their top school like they already got in?
I've been doing it unconsciously.
Like for example, I'll say something to my mom like "oh wow, I can't wait for grandma to see Emma. She's going to love it" or "I hope I get put into Sage (dorm)" or "I wonder if I'll be able to go to revisit day".
It's so bad, because if I don't get in then I'll be even more crushed.
So, can anyone else relate?

I know! I hate when I do it!!! Like just yesterday me and my dad were in P.C Richard and Son buying some new speakers and I saw the Tablet PC Kent requires me to buy and I was like dad “Buy it before it get’s sold out, Ill be the only one that didn’t buy their laptop from the city” and I got all whiney and my dad was like “since when” and im like “since when did you get in” I was like oh darn. lol it was funny. And then I saw this cool frisbee at Modell’s and I told my friends I should totally buy this to have something to do with my new friends at the Middlesex circle, and they were like “what day is it”? hahaha it’s really funny! Im going to be devestated if i dont get in! Ive like memorized schools chants and stuff. haha

Exactly!
I mean, everyday I have a new opinion on whether I’m getting in or not, but a few days ago I was channel surfing and I saw on QVC that they had these really cool Dell notebooks that came in a billion different colors, and then of course I started thinking “hm, what color would go with my [hypothetical dorm room]curtains?”.
It’s terrible.

hahah, that was funny, “curtains”. Speaking of curtains, do guy dorms need curtains??? lol i am so not up to date on dorm ettiquette. hahaha
I feel badddddd afterwards, I dont even realize i do it, i have subconciously become a Middlesex and Kent student! hahaha

I’m sure you could get blinds of something, or maybe just, uh, masculine curtains?
Ahahaha.
It might get really sunny one day one while you’re trying to sleep, so I would say that they’re a dorm room necessity.
I bad too, because if I don’t get in then I’ll feel super embarrassed.
But I don’t understand, why would you want to leave the city?
It’s so amazing, I mean that’s coming from a tourist but it seems like it would never get old.

Well, if you would read some earlier posts, i had some trouble with the day schools in the city (for all you admissions offciers out there from dalton and collegiate I HATE YOU). Well there was a paperwork mishap and i couldnt do anything about it. i got into xavier but it’s a 900 studentbody ALL BOYS SCHOOL! haha it’s a good school but its really my safety net. I know, i didnt want ot leave the city but the top tier bs’s offer the same stuuf, soemtimes even better. Well i decided to give it a shot, and i got so caught up in it!!! The schools are great!!! What schools did you apply to?

The whole like NYC prep school scene is so Gossip Girl, if you know what that is.
I mean, it seems really snobby, which I HATE.
Boarding school is such an adventure, so even if they offer the same stuff that a local school does, it’s still something totally different and new and awesome.

Yeah, hahah, from having my sister go there, the whole NYC prep scene is true! My sister to keep up with the latest trends would spend thousands on clothes! Although my parents hated it, the preassure is really on to keep up or be branded for life. That was always my sisters excuse and they always gave in. It’s funny she had a friend named Emma who’s dad is a partner at a huge lawfirm i want to intern at, who would never wear an article of clothing more then two times! These girls are freaky barbies! hahaha If you ever visit N.Y.C again visit that school!

I think I’ll pass on visiting, but thanks.
Hahahaha.
I really want to go to NYU, it’s my dream.

Really>? Ive nver looked into it. Is it a real good college?

It seems pretty cool, you can basically do anything you want (academically).
They have 13 or 14 schools, like one’s for the arts, one’s for law, etc.
I love the city, so it seems like it would be a lot of fun to go to college there.

Wow, it seems like you do! Most likely more then me, hahaha. Wow, i thought it was like just a non-noteworthy college, to me New York University sounds so drab and boring.

i do that all the time! i will be so crushed ans horrified if i don’t get in!!! i must stop immediately!

I knw NellyRae, it’s like ripping your face off a picture that has yet to be taken.. Wow i just reread my sentence and i didnt mean for it to be that deep! Hmm…i should right that down…

I’m really obsessed with the city, except the subway part.
Ugh.
I think NYU is pretty note-worthy, I mean considering most of my friends are probably going to end up at Loserville Community College.
Hahahaha.

Hahahahahahahahaha…community college I like that, i should totally write that down just in case an ex-best friend comes knocking…

NellyRae, I’m glad I’m not alone!
This whole process has been so nerve-wracking, and March 10 is taking forever to come, so daydreaming and talking like we’re already in is just sort of a nice diversion from the blahness of school, in my opinion.

Yeah, I think it’s a pretty good diss.

My ex-best friend is this disgusting, hideous, creature who probably wouldn’t even get into Loserville because she is so horrific and cow-like.

True, I jsut want to get away from my school and go to my future dorm..ahhh, so relaxing and peaceful. You know I just thought up a question, are the matresses comfortable??? Hahaha, im talking like im in again!

EXACTLY! Replace her with he and cow-like with rat-like! Oh gosh, ive started talking so horrid!
