Curious

Well, I'm a sophomore in high school and I really don't know much about Columbia, but I'm very curious. I immediately fell in love with the campus when I saw it. My family and I went to go see a few college campuses for my brother (who was a junior at the time) when I was in 7th grade. I can imagine myself thriving in that type of environment, I've always been a pretty independent person. It sounds like a really interesting place, but I just want to know more. What kinds of programs does it offer? Are there summer programs I can look into? What's student life like? I'm kind of interested in history and art, but I know very little about both. I never really took to math, but science I don't mind. I think physics is pretty cool (i know this involves a lot of math, but i just think it's really neat learning about how everything works). Would Columbia be a good fit? I'm not really sure what I want to go into, but getting an education from a school like Columbia definitely can't hurt, right?

Any sort of input is greatly appreciated. :]

really the best way to figure this out is to research research :]
this board was a good resource for me, I just read most of the threads that are linked to in the Helpful Columbia Threads sticky, looked at the website, read the brochures I got in the mail, and then of course visited.
After a while you get a sense of the university and are able to decide if you really want to go there, or if it's just the name or the campus or whatever that appeals to you.
