i recieved an AAA for my predicted a-level grades and i scored a 1940 on my SAT(630/740/570 cr/m/w)
i'll be taking my toefl and biology and math 2 sat in november and december.i was involved in a lot of extracurricular activities and i would say my high school gpa is above 3.5 (we had no exact gpa in secondary school this is a rough estimate).
thanks a lot guys i'd really appreciate your help!

NYU - reach
UCB - reach
UCLA - reach
UCSD - low reach
UMich - low reach
Washington - high match/low reach
Wisconsin - high match/low reach
Michigan State - match
USC - reach (it’s all about money and who you know there… It’s dumb)

thought i should add in some extra info…
for my country’s o-level equivalent,i got
all As and my grades in pre-university have been pretty strong,around a 3.7 gpa? one of the gpa converters gave me a 4.0 gpa but i think 3.7 would be more legit.in HS i was active in debating,had a few leadership positions,i also played some sports.i had a strong academic record throughout secondary school too. sorry if i dont chance you back or anything i really dont know…and i really appreciate the help given thanks again!

A student with AAA would not have a 3.5 GPA (in the British system, that means half C half B).
Furthermore, you don’t need financial aid, which is a HUGE boost if not a hook for many colleges.
You can apply to NYU CAS on the sole basis of your GCSE’s and A Level predicted results, so with A/A* and no financial aid this is a match (if not a safety).
Mich State, UWA and UWI= safety
UCB, UCLA and UMich are all reaches because they’re reaches for everyone and because your SAT result really isn’t that great (try retaking or taking the ACT) but your “full freight” status will carry weight, it’s actually easier to get into these three schools as a fulll-pay international than as a high-caliber, in state student. You can thank your parents or the foundation that provides the scholarship money, and the unfortunate fact that the states’ citizens are too poor (or unwilling to) to fund their state universities, which then turn to students like you who’ll gladly pay $55,000 for the privilege of attending a great university. So, be thankful (thank your parents, your lucky stars, the financial crisis, the economic worldview that defunded the universities, whatever, but seriously, be thankful because you’re likely to be luckier than many instate students.)
UCD = match
USC = unpredictable

You might want to add a couple schools (SUNYs, Penn State, Indiana) but overall, you’re fine.
So you’re likely to attend a great school next Fall. :)

are my SATs okay by the way?because i think i wont be able to retake them…and i have a feeling i’ll get around the same score.is NYU possible?or is it too far a stretch?

Your SAT score is fine for a full pay international at UCSD, Mich State, U-W Madison, and UWA. For the rest, it may not be enough, but you never know, it might, so it’s worth a shot. I’d still say that NYU, USC, UCB and UCLA are reaches.

A lot of those are low reaches solely because of your SAT scores. Bring them up to a 2100 at least. By the way, why in the world do British kids have to take the TOEFL? English is your official language!
