Just wondering where some current applicants would think of going if they don't get into Berkeley/don't enroll there.

Personally, as an OOS-er born in California, I'm dying to go back to California, but if I don't get into Berkeley (already didn't get into UCLA) I may go to UCSB or USC (if I get in). I was accepted to UC-Davis but idk how much I'd like it there.

Otherwise, if my state flagship, the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign offers me a nice amount of financial aid I might end up there, and at least I'd have a ton of friends there!

How about you guys? I just thought this would be an interesting topic to explore :D

Similar to you. Rejected to LA but I got into Irvine and San Diego. It’s looking like SD, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s where I want to be.

Although, still having a glimmer of hope for Cal.

Got into UCI, UW, NAU, Cal Lu. waitlisted UCLA, waiting on Cal and USC. Its gonna be a hard week. That waitlist from UCLA really brought down my enthusiasm. Not really counting on Cal or USC. Although reading CC from all the other waitlisted from UCLA was a big reasssuring. Incredible students that didnt get in so I felt a little better

I’m waiting on USC and Berkeley. There’s a very slim chance I will get into either of the two. If I don’t get into either I’m considering attending CU Boulder, UCSC, Penn State, or SUNY Albany. Good luck to you all!

I’m in a 3 way split between Cornell, Berkley, and USC, with Cornell being the only acceptance of the 3 and the others pending. Cornell was a big suprise and I’m by no means assured Berkley or USC with a mere 1830 SAT, 3.98 weighted,3.77 UW gpa. Wednesday will be a suspenseful day in awaiting results for the two remaining.

With the Ivies completely unknown until the same day as Berkeley posts, at this point, it’s a toss up for my son between Boston College and UCSD. He’s going to “Eagle Day” at BC and “Triton Day” at UCSD. He did receive that crazy-making email about being invited to some retreat at Berkeley from the Leadership Awards Scholarship Association today, and what is with that?

I’m going to visit Albany and UCSC soon. I know some people that live up there and they’ve also said it is very dreary and cold in Albany. However it is the cheapest option for me and I might move back to NY.

I think rankings are quite obnoxious and a cheap way for people to research their college.

If I’m not accepted into UCB, then UCLA or CSULB (if I get their presidential’s). UCSD and UCD are quite… expensive relative to UCLA for me. Maybe Cornell will accept me, even if I’m not expecting them to. And on the off-beat that UChicago calls me back to tell me I’ve been removed off of their waitlist and accepted… I might go to UChicago if not accepted to UCB.

in business…waiting on cal and usc. got into uc davis, ucsd, and ucla. Might got to la, cal poly, sjsu or sd because of sd’s chancellors scholarship, the affordability of csus. LA if I don’t get into either. I didn’t finish the FA package for USC so hopefully I get in and I can finish that up. If I have to pay more than $12k there, I dont’ think I will go, even though I LOVE that school. Cal, if its a yes, will be the one (estimated $10k after grants), since their biz program is good, at the price of a public (although rising)…I wish Cal was more like USC in spirit… :(
