Current Average Unweighted GPA and UF GPA?

What is the current average unweighted gpa and if gpa?

bump
plus what matters more. UW OR UF GPA?

for admissions: uf gpa, that’s all they look at…

That is 1 extra point for AP and .5 for Honors right?

I took the tour yesterday, and apparently the middle 50th percentile was 4.0-4.4, with the mean being a 4.1

Sweet, Right now I have a (once this quarter closes) 4.2037037 and if I keep it up next year I can have a 4.40243902 so I think I’m doing pretty good so far.

yeah I’m with you…

4.36 UF GPA…here is hoping that’ll be enough for an OOS

Is that 4.0-4.4 weighted or uf gpa?

anyone know if they round a 4.078 up?

how does that make sense? How is the middle 50% 4.0-4.4 and the mean is 4.1?

What is uf gpa and how does it work

UF GPA is calculated using academic courses from 9-11th grade (8th or earlier if taking high school courses like Alegebra). .5 is awarded for honors courses. 1.0 is awarded for AP/IB/AICE/academic dual enrollment.

What do you mean by .5 and 1.0. What about cp classes and I don’t understand the point of this GPA.

Poppy, they take out your nonacademic classes like chorus and PE (but leave in academic electives like psychology or a foreign language). Then, they add 1 point for AP/IB and .5 points for honors. So if you took honors language arts and got a B, that would be 3.5. If you took AP US history and got an A, that would be 5.0. Some high schools add more, but that is what that Florida colleges do, all of them.

So, for example, if your schedule and grades for one year were:

Honors language arts A
Honors biotechnology A
AP Environmental Science B
Drama A
Honors Advanced Topics in math B
AP US History A

first, they’d delete the drama class. Then, they’d add .5 to the three honors classes, giving you a 4.5 in language arts, 4.5 in biotechnology (an academic elective), and 3.5 in math. They’d add 1 point to the AP classes, giving you a 4.0 in the APES class (in which you got a B) and a 5.0 in the US History class, in which you got an A. Add together (21.5), divide by 5, and you get a 4.3.

No idea whether class labeled “College Prep” counts as honors. It would not count as AP.

Thanks a loyal ex. That really helps one last question. Do colleges like CMU , MIT and stuff like UCB do the same thong

I meant thanks a lot Alex

Just curious… Do they calculate it? Or were we supposed to…

The university calculates it.

Is the 4.0-4.4 the UF GPA or your high school weighted GPA?
