@jpm - DD is my third college student. The older two (who also went to schools all the way across the country) successfully graduated and are now employed, independent and self-confident young people. I think I know what I’m doing. But thanks for the advice.

@blue - I think you understood what I was getting at. No helicopter parent here - just a little air traffic control from long-distance.

P.S. DD and roomate decided that “no one watches TV on a TV anymore - at least not that would fit in our room.”

Stanford78:
I apologize if my wording was too strong. I’ve seen too many examples of the consequences of continued parental involvement. As a result, it’s a subject I feel strongly about. Though that doesn’t justify my strong words.

I need to register for next semester’s courses, any opinions on:
Edward Sciore for PC in Management
Gerald Kane for PC in Management (heard he is a very entertaining prof but a tough grader?)
McGowan for Statistics

Sciore is straightforward and extremely easy if you know anything about computer programming. The question is who’s teaching the second half? Probably says Department, so there’s a risk there. But I would say go for Sciore over Kane. McGowan is a tough professor from what I’ve heard, and plays favorites hardcore.

Professor is unassigned as of this point. (The dept will have to do some schedule shuffling to appoint a Prof to that class by the first day of class.)
