Current BU CGS students(if any)

Hey,
I got accepted into BU, but not in SMG like i applied, but into CGS and I wanted to know what your experience is like in CGS. I mean, what are classes like? and so forth?
Also, is there a guarantee we can transfer into the college of our choice after two years of CGS… if we complete all the required credentials of the college we plan to go to?
Thanks!

Search for the many threads about CGS here. The answer to your question is yes, you transfer into SMG after completing CGS. You don't complete SMG's "credentials" but rather CGS'.

I checked the requirements. To be transferred to SMG you have to take 2 courses at SMG. How difficult is to get into those classes for CGS kids?

Oh ok. Yea I want to know if it is guaranteed that i will be accepted into the college of my choice after the 2 years at CGS before I actually accept my admission.

My understanding, which comes from CGS kids posting the info, is that you can take those classes and that yes you can transfer. Why not call the school and ask? This is an important decision, so why would you rely on what someone you don't know and probably will never meet would tell you on an internet board?

im a freshman in CGS right now and i orginally applied to SMG
in order to transfer to SMG there are a few required courses which you have to maintain around a C+ in, in order to transfer to SMG your junior year (the only elective you take freshman yr which is mandatory for SMG is MA 120 (math) and you must maintain a C+ in that class aswell)

CGS isn't bad..there are a few classes I find pointless and probably will have nothing to do with my future major, but thats the way things are..

Also in order to fit in the requirements to smoothly transfer into SMG you may have to stay your sophmore summer to complete 2 requirement courses (it is not the whole summer but i think its from late may to early july)
if you can't or don't want to stay the summer, this usually ends up in an overload of courses your junior or senior year..

you have to take everything into consideration, the best way to do this is talk to a CGS advisor and they can go over the process with you
