Current CHP Students help plz

I got accepted into CHP, but i am wondering if CHP classes are harder and harder to maintain a high gpa? For the curve thing, is the CHP classes and regular classes separated?

take a look at that

But to directly answer, yes it’s harder to maintain a high GPA with a CHP class than a regular class. However, the fact that you’re in CHP, i think that the professors make it so people generally get at least a B. But the amount of work you have to do to get your grade will be more than other known easy GE courses.

You don’t get a higher GPA for being in honors classes like you do in high school, if that’s what you’re asking. Also, for HumCore, you basically have the same lecture as non-honors kids, but the discussion is with CHP kids. Also, the social science series you’re required to take is actually 6 units each, rather than the typical 4. that hurt my GPA a little…

I’m going to have to disagree with moey.

In my experience, the CHP classes are not harder, and typically a very large portion of the classes receives an A or B (like 75%). For hum core, we were explicitly told that discussion leaders in CHP sections would not grade more harshly.

I meant CHP requirements in comparison to classes like Earth System Science 1-5.
& classes like Anthro 2A are much easier than the CHP social science requirements.

HumCore isn’t much of a difference, in the other thread i mention to stick around for at least HumCore.
