how much phone? in dorm

english please

how much does it cost to use the phone in your dorm? is it per call. if so. how $

Is it easy to have a well-off social life as an engineer? Partying, girls, etc..

I wouldn't consider myself an overachiever, but I want to be able to have a high GPA and be in maybe the jazz band or a gigging band on the side. Will this be possible too? I've been hearing a lot about the study-all-the-time mentality of a lot of Cornell engineers.

I'm not sure the last bit of that is in english either. Anyways the answer is to just get a cell phone.

And luckydivot - that's completely up to you. I know some engineers who have no life, some engineers that have a great life. Depends on how well you can adjust your schedule

Seriously what happens if we don't attend the mandatory reading discussions? Or if we do attend what happens if we don't turn in the writing assignment?

Nothing I bet

don't worry nothing happens

if i live off campus and have a car and parking provided to me there... do i have to pay or get some sort of pass to park on campus next to X Hall during class or events or when i go to the library etc?

yes you would have to get a pass to park on campus for events and what not. But I don't see why would would need to bring your car on campus to park because everything is walkable and no one drives to class.

only because my off campus place would potentially be several miles from campus

haha, that's a mistake. you get to commute in, park on north campus (where your pass probably designates you) and then walk to class. The alternative is to park by the vet school in the other massive lot and walk to class from there.

Why would you live miles away from school? (Unless you're raising a family)

i would either invest in a bus pass or walk...

wooooooooops

where exactly off campus?
if you haven't signed the lease for that far away off-cmapus apartment, I would suggest looking into a place in Collegetown, because there are defintely places still available. Also, if you can't get out of the lease you signed, then you would have to drive your car into North Campus with your $600 sticker and then walk to classes on central.

What are my Chances to get accepted to Cornell with 3.89 GPA from a Technical college ( I went to Technical Career lnstitute, NYC)?

Completed A.A.S. in Networking Technology.

Does cornell accepts students from Technical colleges? Please any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

how expensive is having a car in cornell..i mean parking ticket and stuff...

Zee depends on what courses you've taken...and you will probably just get in as a regular student...

lori - you're talking at least 660 for parking, plus collegetown parking, plus gas (this depends if youre driving a range rover or a hybrid, of course)

here's the thing... Im looking at the lakeshore apartments directly north of north campus... highland rd. they are nice and new and i can keep my pets there- it seems like the collegetown places aren't as nice and aren't as lenient with pets but i really don't know much about apartments near cornell in general. that's why i asked the car question- i'm probably gonna have one to get back home and such anyway

anyways, anyone have any experience/seen the collegetown places... like the ones on East Buffalo St.? and ps. if im a bio major whereabouts on campus will most of my classes be? i thought lakeshore apts. would be nice cuz the arts/sciences and ag quads are on north campus... and they run the bio dept. so i assumed my classes would be there. someone please correct me if im wrong.

If housing isn't guaranteed all 4 years, do you have to move out of dorms? What if you want to stay in them - do they kick you out and tell you to get an apartment for you junior and senior years?
