well my situation is this... i haven't heard from cornell since dec., because they sent all the mailings to my previous school address....so i talked to them over the phone, and yeah i just sent my deposit in last week. SO that's why my name hasn't been uploaded yet.
well anyways, cornell's administration sucks. no common sense period. i mean why would you send to the school address if you are out for winter?! so annoying. i still haven't got anything except my room assignment.

I'd say either way be really outgoing, at least at first. You never know if u miss out joining ur ideal group just because u r too shy to sit with them or talk to them. Being outgoing is just my advice for any college...

Hey! I have a few questions (I'll be joining you guys this fall)

What is Cornell's policy on skateboarding on campus? Do a lot of kids do it? Do the grounds ice up during the winter?

Assuming you don't have any applicable credits, how hard is it to do an internal transfer from, say, Human Ecology to Engineering? What about CALS to ILR? ILR to CALS? CAS to Engineering (computer science?)

I don't know if you were an ILR GT transfer, but do you know when their final decisions usually come out? (I know I should be able to meet the GT due to my first semester grades) When do they want the midterm? Is the final transcript that important? (meaning, does the >B requirement apply to final transcript?). For example, if someone was accepted from GT, and then got a C+ on final transcript and thus did not fullfill the GT requirement, what would happen then?

I think the answer to ur final question would be that u wouldn't be a GT anymore...why else would they want your final grades? It says u can't get below a B and below a 3.3 so I'm sure that's what they are sticking to no matter what.

Keep in mind, there's only like 20 students in each bio lab. I think my first semester TA said that he gave out 2 A's and 2 A-'s which is pretty decent. I actually got an A+ in second semester bio lab because I had the highest grade out of both of her labs so they even give A+'s!

I'd say pre-med is just as competitive as it is at other top colleges. Also, you must take into consideration norcalguy's brilliance when reading his replies. He makes life look easy and getting anything lower than an A difficult.

lol Intro bio lab is strictly bull*****. Dissect a frog, collect some bugs, slice a bean in a half lol

If you want to learn actual techniques useful in research (PCR, gel electrophoresis, affinity chromatography, Southern-Western-Northern blots, etc etc etc.), take BioBM 440 which is a 4-credit lab course that meets for 8 hours/wk.

hmm, well cornell hasn't contacted me requesting one. I was pretty sure they only wanted a final report. Also, one of those ask ezra posts seems to confirm that. Just type in midyear report in the archive search.
