Current Dartmouth Student taking questions

My daughter is very interested in neuroscience and if possible, I would love to hear anything that you can share about this program at Dartmouth. My daughter visited this summer and fell in love with the college! She applied ED with a neuroscience interest. I haven't been able to get a feel for how many students apply to this program, or if it is extra difficult (above and beyond the normal difficulty) to be accepted into this program. Thanks in advance for any information.

"SAT I Scores:

I've suddenly lost hope....

I know the brand new neuroscience center is opening soon, with some type of funding/grant for the next 5 years. Unfortunately, the director is leaving after this term to go to UCSB, although he supposedly is going to have a hand in it for the next couple years. That is about all I know, I would also rec. searching the archives in the D for more info, I know they have covered it in a couple articles. I'm taking Intro to Neuroscience next term, so in another 2 months I might be more helpful....

sr6622: Rest assured, tons of people get in with lower (sometimes MUCH lower scores.) I was in kind of an unusual situation in that my grades weren't THAT good and I didn't have a tough high school schedule, so things balanced out. I wasn't a "perfect" student in every way, that's for sure.

does any Dartmouth student want to explain the Salty Dog Rag?

Thanks in advance for a hilarious response.

The salty dog rag is a dance (the dance has been around forever, but freshmen learn on their DOC trip).

That is as much of an explanation as you get! You will learn that wonderful secret and more when you come to Dartmouth!

Yeah. WHEN I go to Dartmouth...

Come now, positive thinking!
