Current EC Rising Senior and Admissions worker answering questions :)

There’s a new FB group for Earlham parents/families, any year. It’s closed for privacy reasons. PM me for link or friend request.

Yep, Forrest Tobey…he seems to be doing a lot of things that my son is really interested in!

All I remember is Hoerner (at least on the end, with what seemed like only a cinderblock wall between me and the outside–I wasn’t insulated by being between two rooms) was freezing in the winter of 1982. Perhaps they compensated too much in the other direction!

I’m sure my son would prefer to keep the instruments in his room anyway, but as the minimum list is now 3 guitars and 2 small keyboards, I was wondering about other options as well.

Thanks for everything! And thanks woody35 for starting the group!

Another silly little question: Would it be handy to have a combination lock for use in the athletic center?

Bundy has LOTS of room, so you can probably bring as many instruments as you’d like (and if you find that you don’t have enough room, you could bring them back home as well).

I’d say that having a combo lock would be useful if you use the athletic center often. I very rarely use it, so I’ve never felt the need.

My daughter was in Bundy last year and those inexpensive box fans found at WalMart or similar fit perfectly in the window frame - a good solution which didn’t clutter the floor or shelving. She used two - one in each window and never complained about being hot or cold.

Dorm kitchens -

Are there any shared pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, etc. there for everyone’s use? My student likes to cook and we’re still deciding what few basic kitchen items might be necessary to bring (or order online after arrival) and what might possibly already be left behind in most of the dorm kitchens from students gone long ago.

Typically there aren’t shared items out of the list you gave, but every floor has their own community and rules so it’s not inconceivable. Items left over are typically donated to goodwill, so that’s kind of a non-factor.

edit some floors of some building have communal cookie sheets, but that’s about the only (non-appliance) thing I can come up with.

Hello. Do you know if ec goes by primary parent or includes noncustodial of divorced parents for faide. Also how is the merit aide for non need people ?.?.. THANK You

bbccpp,

Unless they’ve changed since last spring, they only ask for financial info from the custodial parent. It’s FAFSA-only, no NCP form required of any kind.

I’m about to send you a PM on this particular subject after a friend pointed out your other similar thread to me.

Ian are you on the cross country team?
