Other comments on columbia: It could only be improved if they brought back BAAF...(that was my only regret to applying ED to Columbia instead of Johns Hopkins...Otakon...)

unstirredfondue: yeah, went there for Spring Break sophomore year and loved it...going back this year but I'm also adding a little hop to England which I'm pretty excited for.

It seems a lot of us like Paris...if we all get accepted, we should do a big France trip. Hehe, probable? no. But fun to imagine, isn't it?

yes, let's do a hypothetical paris adventure. I went with a lot of my freinds and the art dept. of my school during the summer.. it was so much fun. i want to move to europe.

No, I wouldn't want to live in Europe. Everything's too expensive there.

Hypothetical Paris adventure...well, I'd show you guys this tiny little restaurant off the Cluny metro stop where they have the best french onion soup ever, especially if you go in on a rainy day like me and my friends did.

And then I'd hop over to this section of tourist stalls just behind Notre Dame de Paris that's so much cheaper than everywhere else. xD Cheap souvenirs=good. I found a shirt there for 12 euros that was 30+ everywhere else I looked.

would that be the st. michel? When we went there it was raining and we ran down the narrow streets past little cafes and tons of people, and we hid in hotel lobbys and under awnings. Then we walked along the river past all the stands selling old maps and comic books, and aging french posters.
ah, paris.

i am sorry that you do not like parties. I am no authority on this, but I did stay at Columbia for a weekend a few weeks ago. It seemed to me that there are usually a few parties, usually frat parties or in the dorms, but a lot of people meet up in the bars in Morningside Heights, and a lot of other people go out into the city.

i like this thread. i don't like how my parents tell me every day that none of my dreams will come true and that i shouldn't bother trying. i don't like how i don't feel confident about getting into my dream school. i don't like how i am tired and can't sleep because i am upset and i resent my family.
love, ashley

It really sucks how ED and Financial Aid supposedly don't go together. I was totally sure that I was applying ED, but then I started hearing more and more about how I wouldn't get very much financial aid and would have to take huge loans to pay for Columbia, and now I'm almost sure that I'm not applying ED. The ivy league schools all seem to claim that if you have good enough grades that money won't matter, but how can that be true if people who don't need that much financial aid have a much better shot of getting in (ED) than people who do need financial aid (RD). Sorry if I'm ranting, I'm just a little annoyed about not being able to apply ED.

what isn't going online, besides guidance reports and recommendations?
