Will this forum ever be brought back or can it be looked into to see if enough members, particularly those in the parents forum/parents cafe would be interested and welcome it to discuss the issues of today? With so many key issues going on in the country, our government and the economy it seems there would be many ripe discussions and opportunity to share views and learn new things and open up.
The RIP thread stated:
This is contradictory to me. If this forum is placed such that it is not known to most users here, particularly the vast majority of high school users and perhaps college students and it was so, then how does some such discussions weaken the objective?
Now how did the discussions create friction and hard feelings? I see such discussions daily with my parents and friends and random people I see daily and can discuss just fine without any heated passion and irrational communication. Is it not the user’s fault reacting sensitively and taking offense at certain views and opinions, while there are enough other members who can respond appropriately and rationally? And the forum, which would stimulate intellectual discussion and enlightment of real world issues and current events, was closed because of some people who were sensitive to discussing views and opinions?
Thank you for reading and please discuss and/or correct me if I am wrong and you can also PM me, (administrators and mods)
Bump and also addresses the issue of pope Francis threads opening whenever one is closed and there has been great and meaningful discussion before locked.

Enjoy the forum. There are plenty of other internet forums for discussing politics.

I like baseball analogies. The batter, catcher, and umpire sometimes have conversations no one else is aware of. The problem starts when the batter uses the end of his bat to draw a line in the dirt illustrating where he thought the pitch was. Now, everyone’s in on the discussion … and the umpire never seems to appreciate it.
