Like probably many others at UCLA, I'm an aspiring film major. I was wondering if any current film majors who got in have any advice for us prospective film majors.

Like...

1.) I don't see anywhere in the application where we are asked to list our experience with film. Is there any place for this? Does experience with film give applicants an edge? I'm currently a freshman and already have an extensive portfolio of screenwriting and creative writing; however, I'm considering trying to actually film a feature these next two years. Would this help my application or would it have no effect?

2.) Any other tips you might have that you think pushed you through into those lucky 15 accepted every year? :)

Thanks in advance!
