My D did one semester at BoCo, and then spent 3 semesters at our local CC finishing her GE requirements while she decided where she wanted to audition for the second time. She then re-auditioned at a number of BFA MT programs, and one BA MT program. She was accepted to the UCLA BA MT program as a junior, so would not have lost any time. However, she opted to attend Penn State’s BFA MT program, where she was allowed to enter as a sophomore. She was also accepted to several other BFA MT programs (including Emerson), but it was unclear at what level she would enter. Most programs indicated it would be as a freshman, or that they would do a unit analysis after she accepted the offer of admission. She will graduate from PSU this year after spending 5 years in college; 7 semesters in a BFA program, and 3 semesters at our CC.

Just curious, why did your D leave BoCo after only a semester? I understand it to be a wonderful MT school…

My friend’s daughter transferred into Pace’s Acting (not MT) program after two years in a BFA MT program at a state school. She was given sophomore status, so will end up paying for five years of college. (Wouldn’t have been an option in my family!)

It is unlikely that you can transfer into the BFA Acting Program at Pace with out it costing you more time. It has a New BFA and it is very competitive and conservatory style. Its an amazing curriculum but its hard to transfer in.
