Current junior looking for some advice

Hey everyone, I'm currently a junior and I just wanted to see opinions of those on this board as to whether or not I'm qualified for UMICH.

GPA:
UW-3.69
W- 4.90

I just got back my ACT scores and here is the breakdown:
C-32
M-27
S-35
R-30
W-34
10 on the essay.

My main question is, will admissions look at the scores on a wholistic level? or will that 27 in math really hurt me? Either way, I'm taking the ACT again in April.

I've taken the Sat once, and my scores were less than desirable,.

I'm ranked 10th out of 563 at a large public school in south Florida.

AP Courseload:
Freshman year- Human Geo (4)
Soph- World Hist (2) and bio (3)
Junior-English comp, Calc AB, Stat, Chem
Senior AP plans- English Lit, Calc BC, Enviro, , Government, Physics B
The rest of my courses are all honors except for one (Advanced computer graphics) which allowed me to become an Adobe Certified Associate.

Ec's
My primary Ec is varsity baseball. I am 100% commited to it and it takes up most of my time. Im going to write about this in my essays. I'm going to be the SGA parliamentarian next year after the elecetions. I'm also in NHS. I have also worked with my local little league and plan to continue to do so.. I also worked at my vet's office for a summer. I'm also going to attend the PAVE program at Vanderbilt for 6 weeks this summer, which is a pre college prep program with a focus on mathematics and sciences (Classwork and lab based).

I appreciate any input and advice that any of you give. Thank you all very much!

I think you’ll be good. Math is an easy component to increase, compared to the others.

And how the hell do you have a 4.9?

Thank you! And my school puts AP classes on a six point weighted scale. That’s why its high. My report card has has 3 gpa’s on it. Weighted-4.9, cumulative 4.12 and unweighted 3.69. Sorry for typos I’m on my phone

oh, so your weighted is actually a 4.12?

My academic core GPA is 4.12. I’m not 100% sure what the difference between my Weighted and Academic core GPAs are (except .78 points lol). I think that the academic core only uses my core classes where my weighted uses everything. Since 4.90 seems high, I will just use my academic core GPA of 4.12. I need to talk to my guidance counselor about this.

4.9 is not just high, it’s impossible… (on a 4.0 scale where honors/APs are +1 (A=5, B=4, etc.))

Okay…it doesn’t really matter what his weighted is anyways. Going by this year’s cycle you would probably be deferred EA and then stand a good chance as OOS for RD although it may get even tougher next year. It’s still tough to say, check back in mid-April for final results.

@MLDWoody, my school gives 2 extra quality points for AP classes and 1 for honors, so my schools valedictorian has about a 5.1 weighted GPA. Its odd I know but thats how we do it I guess. Thanks for the opinion eziamm, thats what I think might happen.

Yeah when you said 4.9, the only way you could do that on a normal scale is if you’ve never taken stuff like gym, health, etc., which means you wouldn’t graduate, haha

I guess I should have made that clear originally lol.

You may be ok, but it depends on how tough the year is. My son had similar stats two years ago and got deferred ED, and wait listed RD. ACT of 33, UW GPA of 3.8 But 2009 was a tough year.
