Hey guys! I’m a current junior and I really want to know what my chances are of getting into Johns Hopkins University. It’s my dream school, and with all of the decisions coming out I really want to know what y’all think! I have a 34 ACT, 1380 SAT, 4.0 GPA, and am a National Hispanic Scholar. I’m editor of my school’s literary magazine and participate in Science Bowl every year, though this is only my second year at Nationals! I speak English, Spanish, and French, and I really love reading! My intended major is neuroscience and I want to go to med school! What do you guys think, do I have a chance?
Hi! Wow! You sound like an awesome person.
Considering that your Hispanic background is a “hook”, I think you have a good shot at any school you apply to.
You definitely have a good chance for JHU. Just submit that ACT not the SAT. JHU superscores both tests.
If you really want to boost your chances, do well at your nationals for science bowl and maybe try to enter some writing contests such as Scholastic to get recognition for your writing.
One thing: JHU doesn’t admit by major except for BME, so choose wisely when you apply because neuroscience is top-notch at JHU and very popular as well.
Also, if JHU is your top choice. Definitely apply ED, they take a good amount of their class during ED.
