In order to distract myself from my papers due today :) I have decided to help you guys out. I was ADDICTED to this board around this time last year (I swear I checked it everyday!) and it REALLY helped.

so anyways.. I am a freshman in CAS. I was accepted early decision. I'm currently a Journalism major, Undecided on my second major. I live in Hayden.. and I'm also pretty involved in stuff that goes on around NYU. aka i've already extracirriculared myself out by the first semester :)
so seriously... any questions.. I will answer!

Charlie the security guard is awesome. Really. I mean he'll talk to you about anything.. laugh at you when you're drunk... and he's really really cool about most things. It's such a relieving feeling to come home at like 3 am and see Charlie.

Aaaacccchhhhh!!!! I still haven't found out about my decision yet!!!!!

Oh the joys of living in California....:( I get to find out about my dream school like a month later than anyone else...EVEN LATER THAN THE INTERNATIONAL KIDS.

I can't say this with certainty, but I don't think you are notified of being selected as a Scholar WITH the acceptance letter. I say this because my daughter is a Tisch Scholar. However, she was a RD applicant. The letter about being chosen as a Scholar was not part of the admissions packet. My feeling is that would be similar whether in ED or RD. The letter comes from a diferent office than NYU Admissions, in fact.

Also, the poster that referred to this as "scholarship" is confused. Being selected as a Scholar is not a scholarship. My daughter also won a Trustee Scholarship to NYU (that was money, Scholars is not) and that ALSO was separate.

People will be notified of their financial aid packages and their merit scholarships with their admissions packets. A few large scholarship recipients have been notified in advance, but most scholarships will be in the admission packets.

D had same experience for Steinhardt’s scholars program as SoozieVT’s D. She found out after she was admitted in a separate letter. And it is a scholar’s program and she did not get any aditional money when she became a Deans’ scholar. (She had been awarded talent merit aid and a small merit Trusteees scholarship in her acceptance packet.)
