Current opinions on NYU-Poly?

I have yet to visit (I'm going in two weeks) but it's my second choice school. Discussions on here from 2009 are the most recent I can find as far as opinions on NYU-Poly goes. Everyone seemed to really think negatively of the school. Anyone have any updated opinions?

lol. well, I posted this thread in 2009 but it was active just about a month ago: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/804467-nyu-poly-engineering-any-questions.html</a> <–a number of current students posted there too. the most negative thing about this school is the fact that it’s an engineering school. that’s about it though :s nothing outrageously terrible. I don’t know what to tell you; try visiting and/or asking Poly kids questions (here online or there on-campus)

Poly fell from grace about 2 decades ago due to - from what i hear, poor decisions regarding funding. It’s working its way back up top to its original position to stand with caltech/mit/etc but it’ll be a while before that happens. There’s a reason why poly grads are amongst the top 10 most well paid graduates in the nation but has relatively tanked in ratings on U.S news as of recent years. The work here is supposedly rigorous enough to wipe out half of every incoming class within 100 credits (Wouldn’t know about this yet personally, I’m starting my 2nd semester as a freshman)

I was going to apply to POLY, but opted not too because after applying to 11 schools, I just got too tired. :stuck_out_tongue: But I would apply rolling after I got my acceptances in march if I wasnt happy with them.
