hey

I’m going to be taking intermediate french II next semester, and I was wondering if anyone had input on the following teachers. I’m not sure who to take and I can’t find them on culpa.

Erica Weems
Cathy Leung
Phillip Usher

Has anyone ever taken a class with any of them before?

Thanks!

Called my D, but she didn’t answer. If she gets back to me later, I’ll call her. I know she took this course.

Thanks so much… I really appreciate it.:)

Okay. D called back. She said Phillip Usher is a big deal in the department so he should have a culpa write-up. She also said that she doesn’t know about the other two, but they may be graduate students because a Columbia grad student taught her course.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Thanks:) for the help

Absolutely take Prof. Usher’s class. He’s the most amazing professor at Barnard. I’ve taken both a French class and a Comparative Literature class (Big Brother: Poetics of Power) from him, and he’s awesome. He’s 100% dedicated to his classes and comes to every class extremely excited about what he’s teaching that day, a rare thing in a professor.

Probably shouldn’t bump such an old thread - but I thought it was really interesting looking back on this! I ended up loving the class that I took with Prof. Usher, and eventually took several more. He even wrote me a recommendation for med school!
