Current/Past Students: What was/is your experience like?

I recently got accepted for the Summer 2013 semester to USF.
UCF was (and still kind of is) my first choice, but USF is definitely tied with it now.
So, my questions are:
What are the LLC's like? (I'm going into the school of business for Marketing, and I'd also like to get a room in Poplar hall, and since LLC's seem unique to USF I'd love to learn more about it)
Are there always events in the school?
How's the campus life in general, really fun?
And, overall, how do you like USF?

I know that college really depends on the individual, but any input is appreciated!

From what I remembered, both USF and UCF are good schools and very similar academically.
The main differences “IN MY OPINION” were the school spirit, night life and campus activities on weekends.
Hands down, UCF is much better when it comes to non-academic activities. USF has minimal school spirit. USF campus on many weekends is dead and some of the area surrounding USF is dangerous. Also, USF seems like a commuter school were everyone bails off campus after class Like you, I’d choose UCF over USF.

I enjoyed my 4 years of undergraduate studies at USF. I lived in a USF dorm my first 2 years, and in an apartment across street from USF last 2. I participated in many school activities and always kept myself occupied at USF.

USF prepared me well for my career path. I began working fulltime in my present job at good pay in my field of specialization immediately after graduating from USF May 2012. I am also presently enrolled as a graduate student at USF working toward a master’s degree in a program associated with my present employment.

I am glad I selected USF. I’m proud to be a USF Bull!

The LLC’s are a very close knit community. I’ve been to both UCF and USF (I live in Orlando), and I personally prefer USF. The night life may be better at UCF, but USF gives way more opportunities, especially in research and other areas. It also depends a lot on your major. I know a few people that are never in their dorm at night, so there is obviously a vibrant night life here also.

I have some friends in the Bulls Business LLC and they absolutely love it. Plus getting to be in Juniper-Poplar hall is great since that is hands down the nicest dorm. It also has a starbucks, dining facility, pod market, and lots of other things right in the building. Its a bit of a walk to the classroom buildings but hey isn’t that what the Bull Runner is for anyways :). The BullRunner is our free campus shuttle bus with 6 routes, 3 on campus routes and 3 off campus routes. (And if you do want to walk, which most my friends do its about 10 minutes which is not bad. They have plenty of bike racks too if you want to get a bike and lots of people longboard).

Hope this helps :).
