OK, first of all, I forgot to mention: I'm in CAS (or we just call it the college). So this is where my bias comes from.

Now to answer your questions:
The best way to describe a Whartonite is DRIVEN. There is a certain mystique associated with Wharton, and the best way to describe it is a mixture of awe and disdain (at least for people outside of Wharton). For example, two jokes from the DP (Daily Pennsylvanian) this year were that if Penn were Hogwarts and each school were one of the houses, the college would be gryffindor, engineering would be ravenclaw, nursing would be hufflepuff, and Wharton would be Slytherin. Also, the T-shirts for Wharton say in big letters WHARTON with University of Pennsylvania below it...whereas all the other schools say PENN and then the subschool below that. Just a funny quirk...

Don't get me wrong though...I have many Whartonite friends. Many of whom can switch on and off the businessman/woman in them.

So to answer your question succinctly, yes, there is an attitude of arrogance, but I would say it is far more subtle than often portrayed. There is no "Great Schism" between Wharton and the rest of the University.

Girls! haha. Lets just say when I first applied, I was very apprehensive about this. Suffice to say, on a whole, Penn's female population is wholely average. The hot girls are like diamonds in the rough...that's the best way to describe it. However, don't dispair...they don't call Penn the social ivy for nothing...the social life of this school was probably one of the biggest surprises for me...it's AWESOME! Girls from neighboring schools (Temple, La Salle, St. John's, Drexel, Villanova...) come to party almost every weekend, largely because our alcohol policy is so lax, and there is (usually) no cover charge at any parties. So my friend, don't worry...you might be off-put by the women at first glance, but the hot ones are there if you search for them, and like I said don't forget about all the girls from other schools too!

I love Penn! I am 100% happy I decided to come here (applied RD). Housing is amazing...if you get it. That's the only problem. It's not guaranteed, and that can cause some problems. Also, i ended up in a highrise. The rooms are 2nd to none (bathroom, kitchen, lounge), but they aren't as social as say the Quad. Go for the Quad if you can.

The food overall is good, meaning the food options. The dining halls are mediocre...you need to find which of the three (hill, 1920 commons, kings court) serve the best meals of the day. There also is Houston Hall where you can use dining dollars to get sushi, gourmet burgers, and other yummi stuff. Food carts are very tasty and cheap, and also Philly has plenty of good local restaurants.

I like the campus a lot. Some people bash it, but I think it melds "college" with "city" very well. Locust Walk is always alive and filled with energy, and its fun to just walk down it every day haha.

Academically, I'm not gonna lie...it's hard. For me, if I maintained high school level work, I would pull straight Cs. You really do have to step up your game for college. It's a little hard to get used to at first, but you gradually get into the swing of things. Also, when I say "hard," I should qualify it. You basically go into stuff in far more detail, and things pile up, eg this is due tomorrow, paper due friday, test wed, blah, blah...the most important skill you can get good at is time management. Practice this skill, and you will be a highly successful college student wherever you end up.

whew! there's so much more! I tried to fire off answers fairly quickly here, but I can go more in depth through PM or more replies. More ?s
