Current Penn students chancing for class of 2018!

Wharton sophomores with nothing better to do. Ask any questions you might have about Penn and admissions.

How amazing were your commonapp essays?

Are there a lot of URM’s in Wharton? And if you know any, what are they like?

^^Mine were okay. The only conclusion I’ve yet been able to come to about the admissions process is that it’s just plain unpredictable past a certain level of competence.

^There are plenty and they’re just like everyone else.

Got 2 questions!! 1. Since upenn values such good essays, isn’t it almost like a norm that all applicant essays would be good, no? So what is a good essay on the Upenn standard? and 2. Just wondering if there are any difference in college experience if you apply to Wharton vs. SEAS vs. CAS which is like the actual college?

Do you think an application essay should be modest or emphasize the applicant’s skills and importance? (considering that either way the quality is good)

A highly competitive application is not the place to get modest.

Chance me?
Also, I had a question about applications, can you apply to UPenn and Wharton, so that if you don’t get into Wharton you are still considered for Penn?
Thanks!
