Current score and ways to improve for December SAT

Hello,

After studying for the SAT for October for about August and September I ended up with a disappointing 1960 overall score for this is the first time I did the SAT.

My Score breakdown was :
640 CR, 680 Math and 640 Writing with a 9 essay

I am looking for help on how to improve my scores.

For critical reading I had the Direct hits Volume 1 & 2 memorized cover to cover.
I used the Collegeboard blue book to practice passages.

For Math I didn't practice much but when I did it was through the Blue book (My score I bet was from misreading questions)

And for writing I read through the Sparknotes grammar guide and through the Barrons SAT 2400 Books grammar guide.

I am wondering what is the best way to improve my scores?

I am in Canada so I saw Larry Krieger's new book on amazon.com
The Insider's Essential Guide to SAT Critical Reading and Vocabulary: Larry Krieger: 9780985291228: Amazon.com: Books

And I was wondering if this would be sufficient to improve my critical reading by maybe 100 points. What other books did you guys use to bring up your scores?

As for math Ill probably just see my mistakes from the QAS booklet and practice not making any dumb errors

For Writing however I was consistently scoring 700+ in practice sessions. I am debating whether I should buy this book:
The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar and Eight Multiple Choice SAT Writing Tests: Erica L. Meltzer: 9781480114739: Amazon.com: Books

Did anyone use it and should it help me bring up my mark in writing by 100 points or so? Shipping is expensive to Canada so Im just wondering what are your comments about the book.

I currently have Barrons SAT 2400, CB Blue book, Direct Hits Vol 1 & 2, Barrons SAT book, Sat Black prep book.
Thank you

I fail to see how 1960 is a disappointing score. You did better than the majority of people in the U.S.

yes to the grammar book by Erica meltzer; You have no idea how much it helps. I used it this summer, starting from a 620 writing score, to get an 800(perfect multiple choice)

@Jake11
Did you buy the one with the practice tests or without the practice tests? Im just wondering because the one with the practice tests is $20 more

Thanks for your reply

One with the 8 practice, that’s the best part of the book.

Thank you. Ill be ordering the book now then.

Does anyone know if the PWN the SAT Math is a book worth getting?
Thanks

@DarkSouls or anyone reading this, buy the SAT Prep Black Book by Mike Barrett. It really helps you understand the SAT and get a high score without as much effort as you have been putting in. I bought it in June, studied it for the months leading up to the SAT and got a 2250 my first time.

Dr. Chung for math. Pretty hard but suitable for you who are aspiring to get 650+. Good lucks!

Thank you. I bought the book but I didn’t study it much. I should proabably go over it and read it step by step.
