I have two questions...

(1) What have you heard about PITT's economics program?

(2) Also, do you know if the Business LLC is worth it or a waste of time? What is your perspective on it?

From your experience, what's the surrounding city and people like? I'll be an OOS transfer from CA, and since Pitt and PSU are similar in quality, the other details (outside of academics, sports, etc.) may help me make the decision.

Pitt = urban + medium
PSU = rural + large

How is the political science major, particularly if a future in law school is the goal?

As someone who's been to both schools, I can tell you that Pitt and Penn State are nearly identical in almost every category except for environment. You just have to decide whether you want an urban or rural campus.

In response to the honors housing. I'm a frosh living in Honors right now. And it is true they are changing frosh honors to Forbes Hall. They frosh will hve 3 floors, and some sophomores will live on the 4th floor. I know the frosh floor will be coed and because there are only 3 for frosh I would guess that they might be coed, but I know that rooms share "powder rooms" and then there are communal showers. Forbes Craig is remaining soph and juniors for 2007-2008, but it might be renevated in 2008 and then the upperclassmen would be moved to Lothrop I heard which wouldn't be very good. They never really announced why they were moving honors housing around, but it might be to build a tighter community, which it is already. Also I know the RA's for Forbes hall next year and trust me they are going to be awesome, one of whom is mine right now!

Tennisguy, thanks for the imput. Do you know for certain if each floor will be coed by room, or will there be alternating floors; that is, women on one floor, guys on another??? Or will the floors have separate wings??? Will there be a quiet floor??? Have you liked the Honors dorm? Do the kids hang out together???

I love honors housing, it really is by far one of the best decisions I made. It is a very-tight knit community. Although honors kids obviously have friends outside the honors community, I'd say the majority of the kids have their closest friends in the honors community as well. In terms of Forbes hall I don't really now exactly what they are doing, I don't think anyone knows. The sophomore floor will definitely be coed because there is only 1. As for the frosh floors (3 of them) I really have no idea, but because they'll keep equal number guys and girls there will probably be at least one floor coed, but thats a guess. Secondly, if a floor is coed, its probably going to be seperated with guys on one-side and girls on the other only because adjoining rooms share powder rooms. In terms of the quiet floor, there won't be one in honors housing, as there never is. Although the honors floors can get loud because we are college kids, they are much quieter than your average college dorm floor.

I also talked to my RA today, who will one of the several RA's next year for Forbes Hall. He said that all the floors will be coed by wing.
