Sororities aren’t allowed to host parties in their houses and so the greek parties are in the fraternity homes.

Most freshman tend to go to these parties in the fall as frat host a lot of open parties to look for potential recruits. Sororities host crush parties at other locations, but you have to be invited to these by a sister. Most parties in the spring are closed parties between frats and sororities.

really? i was at cornell for an overnight visit and two sisters that i met in collegetown invited me to their crush party after talking to me for about 15 minutes

Anyway, this is slightly unimportant but I always hear about how much fun rush is for guys. Is it just chilling with the bros or do girls go to the night time events too?

Most of the parties in fall semester are thrown by frats. Spring semester its more mixers, which is usually one frat/one sorority mixing at the frat. Open parties in the spring are usually held at houses in collegetown. Though they arent that common, there are a few open parties spring semester, but not many. Its pretty easy to find out about parties as a freshman fall semester, spring semester it will be easier if youre in the greek system.

Chances are you wont be invited to a crush party in the fall unless you happen to become friends with an upperclassmen in the greek system. As far as my experience went, the sororities at school arent huge on recruiting in the fall, then again i wasnt on the other side of rush.

Its chilling with the guys and getting trashed all day. Theyre called smokers. the girls that are already in the greek system tend to go out at night, while the girls that are rushing are usually too tired or scared of embarrassing themselves in front of a girl thats in a house they want. Rush is exhausting for girls, but one week of hell is better to me than a semester of frat pledging.

Really? I thought it was obvious she was female just by the way she talks..

I actually got freaked out because I saw someone tell her “Thanks man!” and she responded “That’s what I’m here for!” and I thought “She’s male..?”

LOL, I don’t know what dewdrop is…
For some reason I had a male picture of you. Ahh and I think I was the one with the “Thanks man!” hahah, sorry!
Anyway, you’ve been really realy helpful, Thanks …

and, btw, i bought friends’ full all-series dvd’s and watching it for my English. what do you think of it? i just thought they spoke real modern English.
