Hi any current Grinnellians! Does grinnell have/allow students to loft their beds into bunk bed form?
Thanks!
I’m interested in hearing from current students about this, too. When I looked at the info on individual dorms on the website ( https://www.grinnell.edu/about/offices-services/residence-life/residence-halls) it seemed like the beds on East Campus could be lofted using bedloft.com. There was no mention of lofting beds in the other dorms, but I’m hoping to hear that they too can be lofted.
You can loft your bed in any dorm, and Grinnell offers loft rental options. If you want to do it, then go right ahead.
Awesome!! So stoked
@Kudryavka, do most students have fridges in their rooms?
@MSMomOfOne, most people have a fridge. There are community fridges in the lounges, but it’s pretty common for people to steal out of the community fridges. It’s easier to just have a mini-fridge for yourself.
@Kudryavka also another random question but which meal plan would you suggest?
Thanks so much, @Kudryavka. Is there anything else you can think of that a student might need? Something we might not think to bring?
@checkers22, I read that first semester students have to get the top meal plan but can reduce it to the next level the second semester if they want.
@checkers22, get the 15 meal plan once the college lets you reduce it. No one uses their 20 meals, since that would require you to show up for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner that is offered in an entire week.
@MSMomOfOne, Shower shoes, nail clippers, sanitary wipes, bedsheets (IIRC they’re called “long” bedsheets so they’re probably not the same size as your ones at home), things like that. If you forget something, though, you can just go to Walmart and pick it up.
check with roomie first. Sometimes one gets fridge and one gets microwave, rug, or something like that. You can also preorder at Walmart and pick up when you arrive.
When do kids hear about roomie?
