I know UPenn requires an essay dealing with "Why UPenn?"

How did you guys deal with this question? Did you just immerse yourself into the Penn environment and write how you felt? Any advice here? Particularly for Wharton?

Your help would be much appriciated.

Any other help would be appriciated as well.

I would do some heavy duty research into Penn. The more specific to Penn that you talk about the better the essay will be. For example, if you were going into science, then you could look into research you could do at Penn and name a researcher you'd like to work with. I dunno as much about Wharton. Perhaps they have entrepeneur programs or something like that? Anywho, be specific and see if you can name names. What the adcoms want to see is that you researched the school.

search the website hard, and find things that can connect to what you already have been doing. Also, visit and try to connect what you say in the essay with what the admissions people say at the tours.

i had an on campus interview with an admissions rep and this is what i took away from it about the essay:

penn admissions will read your app. judging by what youve spent time doing, there are activities they will logically assume you have a desire to continue at penn. express in your essay what unique charactaristics of penn will allow you to pursue what you are passionate about.
