Soo.. I am trying to figure out how many hours a week I will need to work.
And I wanted to know how much money I will need for food other than the meal plan/laundry/going out/etc..

How much do you spend per month? Are you a boy or a girl (us girls have a tendency to spend more!)

Thanks!!

I spend about 200 a month on food, going out, etc. I'm a guy.

WOW!! ^ do you do alot of bars or something?

Uh, i mean I def. don't eat in the dining hall ever meal, especially on the weekends, and of course I pay for my own alcohol and what not. No I don't do the bar scene. I really don't feel like 50 bucks a week is insane, I do have a life.

uhhh... i guess when you put in dollars per week its not that bad...
i notice nobody else replied :( parents, if you know how much your kids spend that would be awesome too...

My d spends a ridiculous amount per week....$100. But, it's her money, she worked for it and we don't have much say in the matter. And she's a girl....girls like to shop. ;)

(And...she does like to buy groceries and make her own meals as much as possible. We have put her on the smallest possible meal plan this year for this reason. So I guess it all evens out.)

^^^ is there a grocery store near? i hated the food at lenoir, but i ended up with a 10 meal per week plan anyways because the only grocery store i found on yahoo maps was harris teeter, 2 miles away from north campus.
what kind of meals does she cook? we are only getting a microwave in terms of cooking stuff....
thanks!

I think I'm gonna try to live on $30-40/week..I figure that's enough for a few meals out, maybe a movie or something, and cover charges at parties or whatever. I'm not sure what else I'd be spending money on?

And I'm definitely gonna try to just take out $40 in cash from an ATM at the beginning of the week to use instead of my card because I tend to go a little debit-happy haha.

In Rams Head there is a mini-grocery store, other than that the Harris Teeter probably is the closest one.
