Current Students: Is it possible to...

...change from a major in the humanities department to a major in the engineering department...do you need to fulfill any prerequisites?

Thanks
:)

If you haven’t enrolled yet and you decide to come here, there’s a form you fill out when you get here in the fall. Ask your director of studies about it. I believe you can’t decide to be an engineer after freshman year.

It depends when you want to change. If you want to change now, before you enter the school it should be no problem. After you enter and the longer you take before you decide, it becomes more difficult. All engineering majors have the following requirements: one semester of computer science(cos 126), one semester of chemistry, math up to Linear Algebra, and two semesters of calculus based physics. If you have AP credit or you decide to take some of these classes as well your freshmen year, it would make a switch later easier.

if i do get in i will make sure to make the change as soon as possible

Thank you very much
